This is an eight-string Georg Bolin from 1988.
This guitar is intended för the 19th century repertoire with extended bass range (Coste, Regondi, Mertz et). Of course it can be used for other repertoire as well; such as lute music, transcriptions of piano music or original compositions. The two extra bass strings are outside of the fretboard, theorbo style and can be tuned differently depending on the key of the piece one is playing.
The guitar also has an extended range in the high register with a total of 22 frets.
Georg Bolin guitars are played by famous guitarists such as Göran Söllscher, Per-Olof Johnson, Mats Bergström, Rune Gustafsson and others.
